Hennington is Lord British's seneschal in Ultima IX

Description[edit]

Hennington's duty was to assist Lord British in his daily affairs as monarch of Britannia, a job that ostensibly kept him busy to such an extent that he had little time to answer questions. He would routinely urge the Avatar to consult with Lord British on matters of import, and claimed that he would then disseminate information about the hero's deeds to the general populace.

When Lord British made the decision to leave for the Isle of the Avatar in pursuit of Blackthorn, it was Hennington who informed the Avatar as to the king's plan, and he would supply to the hero the note of challenge that had spurred British to action. He appeared grieved by the entire affair, stating that it was unfitting for the reigning monarch to unduly risk his life while the Avatar was on hand.

Later, as the time of the Avatar's final confrontation with the Guardian drew nigh, Hennington would inform the hero that the eight companions had gathered in the castle and were waiting to speak with their former comrade in arms. He wished the Avatar good luck and the aid of the virtues before their final parting.[1]
