Granted is a hungry beggar who, during the time of Ultima IV, resides in Skara Brae, where she can be found begging outside of the northwestern moat.
Description[edit]
Desperately in need of sustenance, Granted nevertheless begged for alms far from the normal routes frequented by wayfarers, and was suffering dolorously during the time of the Stranger’s quest toward Avatarhood. Should the adventurer offer her food, or money with which to buy it, the grateful woman would return the hero's succor with advice to consult her friend Ambule regarding the mantra of Spirituality and to address the seemingly insensate ankh in the center of town for information about the lost rune of the city.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Granted can be identified with the beggar in the same location. She touts herself as a "hunger artist", offering to forgo food as a form of performance art in exchange for money. Should the hero offer her patronage, the avant-garde spangler will reveal that a mysterious man in black stopped to watch her starve and sprinkled flowers of sulfur upon her wounds.[2]
