Conor Starfalcon is a farmer in New Magincia in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
Conor was a simple fisherman who worked the shores off the coast of New Magincia, supplying The Humble Palate with fish. He told the Avatar that he was only interested in learning what he could from the sea and his life as a fisherman. The humble fisherman was a deeply spiritual man who believed that the key to enlightenment was not based upon a destination, but the road one traveled. Conor felt there was no way that he could be the humblest man in New Magincia, and that offering his opinion of who was the most humble would only lower those he did not choose. The fisherman told the Avatar the mantra of humility, and was even willing to take the Avatar to the Shrine of Humility if his simple boat had been up for the task, offering the hero his vessel any time there was need.[1]
Conor had one secret he kept from the people of New Magincia. He used to be the leader of the Order of the Silver Serpent. He actually kept a magic silver serpent shield, a souvenir from his days as lead of the Order of the Silver Serpent, hidden under a bush by the docks in New Magincia. Conor was good friends with Koranada of Serpent's Hold back when he was leader of the Order, and the knight still spoke highly of his old friend.[2]
The Avatar was awarded with the rune of Humility by Lord Antonio, upon telling the mayor that Conor was the humblest man in New Magincia.
Runes of Virtue[edit]
In Runes of Virtue II, Conor had taken up working the land of Britannia instead of its seas, and could be found in full armour cutting his crops in New Magincia. He told the hero to be careful around the volcanoes of the Isle of the Avatar.
The Ultima 6 Project[edit]
This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.
In The Ultima 6 Project, if told about Evie’s desire to become a sailor, Conor was flattered. The former guildmaster told the hero he would be glad to take her out fishing, but that at eight years of age, she was still a little young. Still, with William and her mother's permission, he would gladly take her. Also, if enough of his past is uncovered by discussions at Serpent's Hold and learning of the glow at his house, he would give the Avatar his magical gear to put it to good use.
Lore[edit]
“ | The fisherman has an interesting past - he used to be guildmaster of the Order of the Silver Serpent (that's the warrior's guild). ConorÄs his name. It might seem a strange transformation to some, going from warrior to fisherman. But neither profession calls out to me, and I suppose one is as good as the other. Anyway, if he wants to chant the Mantra of Humility a hendred times every morning, I'll not speak against him for it. He drank me under the table once, after I'd shared dinner with him at his hut, and any man who can do that earns my respect for life! – from The Book of Prophecy (Ultima VI)
