Carlyn is Moonglow's clothier in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Carlyn was a woman deeply focused on her work and had little to say about her native city's inhabitants, despite tending the popular local pub while its more socially canny proprietor, Phearcy, was occupied with nightly Fellowship meetings. Should the Avatar inquire after other people of the town, Carlyn would admit she knew less about her fellow citizens than she wished – although she could comment briefly on the management of the local Fellowship under Rankin and Balayna.[1]
Expressing obvious pride in her handicrafts, Carlyn would become enthusiastic when asked about the prices of her wares and would become flustered should the Avatar prove disinterested in purchasing them.[2]
Lore[edit]
“ | Of course, during meetings, I have Carlyn tend my tavern. She is our clothier, and a wee bit high-nosed at that, but she does a good job tending bar here at the Friendly Knave. No one gives her any more trouble than they would me. – from Key to the Black Gate (Ultima VII)

Trivia[edit]
- Carlyn is the author of a book simply entitled Weaving, which contains numerous patterns for clothing, blankets, quilts, and sheets. Curiously enough, this volume can also be found on the far-flung shores of Serpent Isle, despite its long separation from the lands of Britannia.[4][5]
