Alina is an impoverished woman living in the Fellowship-run homeless shelter in Paws in Ultima VII. She is married to Weston, with whom she has a daughter named Cassie.

Alina's husband Weston was imprisoned sometime before the Avatar's arrival in Britannia, having been found guilty of stealing apples from the Royal Orchards in Britain. With no support for herself or her infant child, Alina sought refuge with the Fellowship, although she remained wary of the organization, having learned that Figg, her husband's accuser, was a member.[1]
When the Avatar encountered Alina, the young mother was under intense pressure from the shelter's operators, Feridwyn and Brita, to join the Fellowship, lest they refuse her further services. Torn between the welfare of her child and the prospect of joining the group that had accused her husband of thievery, Alina fell into despair, unable to bring herself to believe promises that the Fellowship would strive to secure Weston's release if she joined them.[2] Brita appeared to have some compassion for Alina, but maintained a condescending attitude concerning her character and held the view that membership in the Fellowship was key to her improvement. She was also dismissive of Weston as a common criminal.[3]
If the hero secured a pardon for Weston from Lord British, Alina's situation brightened. Once informed of the trivial circumstances which held the apple thief in prison, the monarch went so far as to offer Weston part-time employment so that he could support his family, and Alina soon received news that her husband would return with sufficient funds to keep his family fed.[4]
