Tarot cards assist your character during dungeon crawls. A tarot card can only be used once; after the dungeon is complete, the card is lost.

The cards are situated into four suits: Bells, Books, Candles and Keys. Each suit is comprised of 6 cards. There are also 16 Arcana cards, and 8 Virtue cards, for a total of 48 cards.

Trivia

• The designers created a fully fledged Ultima Tarot deck with 8 virtue cards, 16 major arcana, and four suites of 6 cards, all based on the Ultima cosmology of the twin moons. Every card is fully illustrated and has a specific meaning.
• A Tarot Card is also featured as a Quest Item.
• The addition of the News window had the unfortunate side effect of removing the Tarot reading, which was the only place to see the high-quality version of the Tarot cards.
