Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar' is a new game from Mythic Entertainment set in the universe of the classic Ultima series of RPGs. Releasing initially on Apple’s iOS mobile operating system (which powers iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches), the game will come to the Android and PC platforms later this year, welcoming adventurers on all three platforms back to Britannia once more. A “free to play”, online title, Ultima Forever can be explored and won without having to pay a cent. It can even be played as an effectively single-player game. That said, Ultima Forever is designed for multiplayer, and players who opt to work alongside others will advance — in experience and Virtue — more quickly.

Set twenty-one years after the events of Ultima 4, Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar sees Britannia in crisis, set upon by a menacing illness called the Black Weep. To make matters worse, wise Lord British has departed from the realm, leaving his only daughter — Lady British — on the throne. Faced with the existential threat of the Weep, Lady British summons heroes from Earth to Britannia and bids them to unravel the mysteries of the Weep in order to save the land. Along the way, some may even ascend to Avatarhood.
