Zogith is a mage imprisoned in the Pits of Carnage. He appears in Ultima Underworld II.

Description[edit]

A quiet and well-mannered man, Zogith was eager to increase his prowess as a magician in order to better his position in the pits. Although superstitions about his powers left many of the prisoners in the colony respectfully wary of him, he had little to eat and feared himself a poor combatant in the arenas. When the sorceress, Zaria, declined to take him as an apprentice, he bent his efforts toward developing his own spells and mastering what few others of which he had knowledge.

Should the Avatar speak with Zogith, the unassuming mage could speak at length about various denizens of the colony, giving the hero helpful information regarding Dorstag, Zaria and Zoranthus - as well as passing on rumors as to what lay in the deeper reaches of the caverns. If the Avatar offered him advice by directing him to seek fights in the Arena of Air, Zogith would return this kindness by divulging the location of Dorstag's concealed vault. The hero could also assist the man by bringing him a Flam rune, and would be repaid with knowledge of a new spell.[1]

Lore[edit]

Zogith is a mild-mannered mage who lives in one of the eastern cells. He has modest powers, but none that rival those of Zaria or myself. He has gathered facts and rumors about the prison and dungeons, and has also discovered the runic formula for a rare spell he has named Valor.
