On an island in the Abyss lives a golem whose purpose is to prove knights’ Valor in combat. He appears in Ultima Underworld.
Description[edit]
As a service to the Knights of the Crux Ansata, the golem was created by a mysterious Seer named Lerin. The golem has an invincible constitution, but is reluctant to kill any of his opponents and will desist from combat, once satisfied that the knight has proved his Valor. The Avatar met him on the sixth level of the Abyss on an island in a lava lake. The golem said that if the hero managed to defeat him, the prize would be the Shield of Valor.
The Avatar managed to do so, and the impressed golem surrendered the magical shield.
