Confusing sentence[edit]

I think the line

In the Apple II version, the teleport spell took a non-boat crew to a location with grass, and failed for boats.

needs to be rewritten. I'm not sure what it means. The Ultra-Mind (talk) 16:46, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Since it looked quite unclear, I cleared up that it was talking about the spell Dag Acron.--Tribun (talk) 17:18, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

What reagents?[edit]

"and some had extremely rare and exotic components (even compared to nightshade or mandrake root!)" sounds like it's talking about gameplay. While the hardcopy materials talk about reagents, the spellcasting in U3 is reagent-free. The Ultra-Mind (talk) 22:03, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

I think that does refer to the flavor text and not the actual gameplay.--Tribun (talk) 23:32, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Spell classes and synonyms for them[edit]

For a start, to be clear, the terms:

  "Wizard" = "arcane" = "sorcery"

and

  "Cleric" = "divine" = "prayer"

? Because Sosarian_magic#Magic_Classes and Older professions (opening essay as well as "Spells Allowed") appear to be using these terms interchangeably and they should be homogenized or at least arranged so it's clear what's meant.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 19:36, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

And I'm not even sure where the terms "divine" and "arcane" come from--I can't find those terms used that way anywhere in the manuals. I think we should favour a single set of terms where we can, so I vote for "sorcery" and "prayers", seeing as they are what's used on a table in the U3 book of play. One could argue that "wizard" and "cleric" are more intuitive, but I think they are too confusing, given that they are also character classes.
BTW, U1 doesn't seem to have this distinction, so I think we should stop implying that it does.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 08:54, 13 October 2022 (MDT)
