Questionable Material[edit]

There's some material that I can't find anything about in this article:

  1. his preferred solitude in the mines and that he's rarely out of them, although, the transcript does suggest that he goes to Fellowship meetings.
  2. where he sleeps or any connection to headlesses
  3. Fodus doesn't have much to say either.

I've been through Paul Carr's transcript using strings like "mikos", "Mining" and even "foreman". And I haven't been able to find this "Underworld Dragon's U7 Transcript" I see everywhere. Do we have access to a complete U7 transcript?

I'm also a bit uncomfortable w/the playing of the race card here. While you can certainly make a case for it, I think it should be done sparingly and only with much greater call. The Ultra-Mind 20:47, 16 December 2012 (PST)

1 & 2. I imagine these are based on observations of his in-game schedule, not gleaned from dialogue.
3. Not sure what this is referring to.
Underworld Dragon is the proprietor of the Notable/Literal Ultima.
With regards to racism, if Mikos' remarks about gargoyles being shirkers are not an example of racial stereotyping, I'm not sure what is. I think this is especially true given the context of U7, in which racism is an overt theme. I can also see the value in attributing racism to Mikos as a means to differentiate from the article itself being racist. That particular sentence could now potentially be interpreted as though the wiki is taking the position that gargoyles are shirkers. --Terilem 02:05, 17 December 2012 (PST)
Addendum: Confirmed his schedule with my own observations. He only leaves the mines to attend Fellowship meetings, and he sleeps on the ground outside the Britannian Mining Company building. There are indeed headlesses nearby. --Terilem 02:51, 17 December 2012 (PST)
1 & 2. Well, I guess no references for you then :(
3. I mean he does a lot of rambling. And reading Mikos's text, when I wrote that I was getting the feeling that I was working w/an incomplete script. I still think I might be.
Oh, right: Underworld = Notable Ultima.
The racism of Mikos's comments hinge on "typical for a gargoyle" (unless there are parts of the script I haven't seen). "Racism" is a pretty strong word and I don't think its strength is matched by that phrase. But you're right, the new edit has an ambiguity. How about: "...asserting that gargoyles typically shirk their responsibilities"? I feel that this is one of those situations where the interpretation should be left to the reader. Fair enough. I don't feel particularly strongly about it either way, just as long as that ambiguity is resolved. I haven't seen the transcript you're working with, but judging from the Usecode I doubt those characters are incomplete; neither one's dialogue is particularly long. --Terilem 18:30, 17 December 2012 (PST)
