Should we merge Wheel of the HMS Cape with HMS Cape? There seems to be a lot of duplicate material there. Dungy 14:33, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds pretty logical to me. It is the same situation we had with Zog and the Bones of Zog. Makes more sense to have everything in the HMS Cape article.--Sega381 18:00, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Not sure if that's the way to go. The HMS Cape is a vessel of some renown, although it never actually appears in the game(s). The Wheel of the HMS Cape and also the Plans of the HMS Cape, on the other hand, feature as items of some importance in Ultima IV and Ultima V, respectively. I feel they already deserve their own article on grounds of being notable items. If you create one concise article about the ship and its associated items, the absolute minimum to be done would be redirects from the item pages. Frabby 18:22, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
You have a good point, but you are correct, we always leave this kind of redirects when merging articles. And in the merged articles, there can even be separate sections for the items, if needed.--Sega381 18:35, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Plans of the HMS Cape has always redirected to HMS Cape. My decision was based upon the fact that the information in the wheel article was nearly identical to the pre-existing HMS Cape article. There was less than 100 characters of information in a 1300 character article that wasn't already in the HMS Cape article. But you are correct about leaving redirect. They're important, and I'm always careful to leave them. Dungy 18:39, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
