Le Chef is the chief cook of Castle Britannia, during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
"Le Chef" was a flamboyant man sporting a archetypal white hat and a profound passion for his work. If given the opportunity, he would ask if the Stranger ate, and would recommend that hero try his soup. (If claiming not to eat he would joke that the adventurer was a spiritualist).[1]

NES remake (English localization)
- "Le Chef" is French for "the boss" or "the cook" or "the kitchen boss".
- Should the Stranger ask after Le Chef's health, he will admit that he has cut his finger.[2]
- In Ultima II, an individual known as Andre the French Chef could be found in Lord British's employ, indicated that the sovereign may have an ongoing appreciation for Gallic cuisine.[3]
- In the [[Nintendo-port of Ultima IV|Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), the Chefs can be identified with the three men in the same location. Two of them were removed from the English localization. The remaining one informs the Stranger about the mechanic of the moongates.[4]
