Forum:Rumors&Theories

Should we have a separate topic/section for rumors&theories based on the released games, in the vein of what was originally thought of happening in them etc. They just feel valid enough information not to be tossed aside, despite being just speculation. Most of them did start from somewhere and have spread pretty far. In my opinion that stuff should be in a separate section just for reference, without 'tainting' the actual topics. --Time Lord 06:34, 7 October 2011 (PDT)

You mean in regular articles, right? One of the roles of an informative reference such as this one is to set the record straight. It sounds like the full scope of what you are describing, however, would add to the problem. I don't think we should ignore the elephant in the room, but I think we should be careful to avoid a situation where we create sources of misinformation. The Ultra-Mind 19:59, 15 October 2011 (PDT)

I'd be very hesitant to have something like this. I agree that our role is to present the facts and let the reader make up their own mind. There were just too many theories once floating around here (and remaining in some places) that were either very shaky or flat out wrong that it would seem counterproductive to go back to opening the door for all that again. I know it's tempting to put theories out there and try to explain everything in the absence of a contribution from Origin, but I feel that's what forums are for. --Terilem 21:55, 15 October 2011 (PDT)
