At the south gate

City walls form the perimeter of the city of Trinsic.

Description[edit]

These walls surround all of the city, with only three gates, in the south, north and east, allowing entrance. When the city gates are closed on order of the mayor, a password is needed to enter or leave the city – a password that cannot be openly published. Trinsic has always had walls throughout its history in its earliest days. However, due to an expansion of the city during and after the Gargoyle War, the walls had to be expanded to their current size, again encompassing the whole city within them.

When the Great Cataclysm flooded Trinsic, the walls were destroyed.

Lore[edit]

This is a pretty uptight place. They claim to be the city of Honor, but the folk there don't seem to put much faith in the honor of outsiders. There's a big wall around the place, and guards patrolling everywhere.
Travellers might question the need for the walls that surround the city. As if this would not be enough to keep the city secure, the guards of the city will not permit anyone to enter or leave the city unless they know the secret password. While this was once done to maintain the security of the city and the safety of its citizens, it is now done mostly to sustain a traditional ritual. (Britannian law forbids the open publication of Trinsic's password.)

Trivia[edit]

  • The city walls facilitate a copy protection scheme in Ultima VII.
  • The password is "Blackbird" in the time of Ultima VII.
