Bear traps can be found in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
These traps are laid out to cause severe damage to unwary adventurers by clamping hard upon their legs with sharp spring-loaded metal teeth. In Britannia, these metal traps automatically reset themselves after striking, ready to injure their next victim. One cannot remove these traps without the help of magic, but using the Vanish spell can remove this danger. These traps were not encountered again after the time of the False Prophet, though caltrops were used for similar purposes.
