Yastar is a mage in Ultima IX, living on an island near Valoria.

Description

When the Avatar found him, he was surprised to have a visitor, but quickly recognized the Avatar, crediting the volume of literature devoted to the hero. He quickly came to business, telling the Avatar how he had been experimenting with bone armor, and offered the Avatar an instruction manual detailing the production of a bone armor helm to test his theory. Intimidated by the undead, he offered to make the Avatar bone armor on the condition that the hero gather the raw materials. The Avatar agreed, and by following Yastar's instructions, managed to create the bone helm by conducting the appropriate ritual.

Trivia

• The manual can only be acquired before repairing the Shrine of Valor.
• The making of the bone helmet requires three very specific skulls (found on pentagrams around the Valorian Isles), but three more skulls are found in the ritual room. Anyway, even if the procedure is repeated, only one bone helmet can be obtained.
• Yastar asks for three reagents, and all of them can be found on the Valorian isles. In particular, the invisible nightshade is a few steps from Jordan's body (cast Ethereal Sight).
