Varo leaves
Varo leaves are leaves from the varo plant that appears in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Native to Serpent Isle, the leaves of the varo plant are used to create a special ointment which possesses curative properties. Because it only grows in places with abundant sunlight the plant became more scarce as the clouded skies went on for many months.[1]
History[edit]
In Ultima VII Part Two, the Avatar was burning with a fever as if struck by some terrible malady after becoming a Knight of Monitor. Harnna, a healer and Knight of Monitor could temporarily restore the Avatar's body, but not permanently without a special ointment made from varo leaves. She suggested to go and see if Delphynia, the horticulturist in Fawn had a supply of leaves.[1][2] Delphynia told the Avatar that her skills as a healer are limited and therefore it should be brought back to Harnna for she would be able to help out.[3] After giving the five leaves to Harnna, the Avatar was finally permanently cured.
Trivia[edit]
There is a glowing version of the varo leaves sprite inside of the game, but it is not known why it is was cut and what the sprite was used for.
