The Silver Seed Play Guide comes with the Ultima VII Part Two expansion The Silver Seed.
Description[edit]
The in-game fiction in the first third of the book consists of a report of Isstanar given to Calithiss, where he gives her a status report of the keep, its inhabitants and its surroundings. It also serves to deepen Isstanar's character. The other two thirds are an explicit solution to the expansion pack, and contain no fiction. In real-life, Roswitha Shoemake and David Ladyman wrote the fiction part of the guide, while the rest was written by Al Carnley and Jennifer Davis.

Other Editions[edit]
The book did get translated into the following languages: German, French, Chinese, Spanish and Korean. While the German, French and Chinese translations were released as printed books, the latter two versions were only released in PDF format. The German version, at least, suffers from a translator that not only clearly did not have German as a first language, but also was ignorant even of the lore of the main game - resulting in numerous embarrassing errors.

Fan Versions[edit]
Sir John again translated The Silver Seed Play Guide since the original German translation at times was not exactly up to today's standards. However, the layout of that first new translation was somewhat bland and not optimal, while still containing errors of the original. In 2021, together with the language patch Ultima VII Part Two auf Deutsch, a second new translation was done, this time Tribun Dragon helped spotting the errors while providing new illustrations to compensate for the rather lacking original and the books got a new cover. The book now also is fully in color.
The books coming with the patch have the lowest quality due to size issues. Sir John offers higher quality downloads on his page.
