Talk:Valarian Islands
Nice catch on the U4 NES Map!! Thanks Tribun. -- Fenyx4 21:46, 2 January 2013 (PST)
- I'm not sure about this one, guys. According to the U4 Cluebook, the Valarian Isles (yes, with an a) are the same as the Valorian Isles. I admit I'm not very fond of including the console oddities as canon, but trying to be as unbiased as possible, I'd still rate an official cluebook higher than a console port, especially one that calls Lock Lake "Tsuku Lake". --Warder Dragon 02:10, 3 January 2013 (PST)
- I'm not crazy about considering console names canon, either. Those ports were made by an entirely different team, not Origin. --Terilem 19:37, 3 January 2013 (PST)
Don't worry, the name is canon. LB mentions them in the Origin U4. However, the other stuff he says implies that they are not where the map has them, which means we have contention between canon and an NES game.
"Many valiant fighters come from Jhelom in the Valarian Isles!"
Oh yeah, but the name might still stand some tweaking. The Ultra-Mind 20:45, 25 January 2013 (PST)
- Yes, as Warder indicated, they're named the Valarian Isles in the cluebook and manual too. I didn't mean the issue was in the name itself, but the fact that only the NES version of U4 calls the unnamed islands directly south of Spiritwood the Valarian Islands. I believe those should either remain unnamed, or, if we need a name, the sign there in U5 reads, "This is the Island of Sherlock the Strange." --Terilem 22:51, 25 January 2013 (PST)
- Oh... then is it just me or is every part of the article ok? 'Cuz it seems to me that the map and every bit of text are only pertinent to the NES and not to the Origin Valarians. The Ultra-Mind 20:56, 27 January 2013 (PST)
- Yes. The Valarian Isles are the same as the Valorian Isles, indeed.
Slightly to the west lie the Valarian Isles. The walled town of Jhelom provides Lord British with the best fighters and also the largest inn of the realm, where the service is outstanding. (U4)
Jhelom. Far of the mainland, among the mountains on the central and largest of the Valorian Island...(U5) --Arthgon 05:35, 6 February 2013 (PST)
