Skitle is a animated skeleton which dwells in Trinsic during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Skitle had previously inhabited the Dungeon Shame, but had found its way to the surface and hidden itself amidst a grove of trees in the city of Honor. Sought by the wandering Quix for its knowledge of the purple stone, the sapient skeleton would speak honestly of the altar rooms that lay beneath the earth when spoken to by the Stranger, declaring that the stone of honor could be fitted to the altars of Truth and Courage. Offering no hostility, despite its monstrous condition, Skitle would exhort the hero also to journey to Shame, promising that there was much to find there which would help in the quest for Avatarhood.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- Should the Stranger asked about Skitle's health, it will ask what the hero means.
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Skitle can be identified as the paladin in the Honorable Inn (that is, just across the wall to the north), who gives the same information.[2]
