Shapero is a druid living in Britain during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Shapero could be found within Celest’s practice, where he was looking for the bard Julio (unbeknownst to him, waiting in a secret passage behind Wound Healing's north wall). He would tell the Stranger that it was Julio who knew the true nature of Compassion, and would further direct the hero to seek the Shrine of Compassion to the east, beyond two bridges.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the supposed journal of the Avatar discovered by historians Robert De Main and Carlotta Stein, Shapero is described as wearing garb emblematic of the Yewen druids: a loose, ankle-length robe belted at the waist, worn under a long cloak.[2]
- In the Nintendo port of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Shapero can be identified with the girl across the town bridge, who gives the same information.[3]
