Research (Lord of Ultima)
The following information is taken from the The Great Libraries of Caledonia[1]:
Purified Resources[edit]
Research requires gold and purified resources. Purified resources are held across all cities, like gold, but cannot be plundered.
Purified resources can also be gained as a combat reward.
Creating purified resources requires a Moonglow Tower Level 10. A single purified resource can be created by converting 1,000 standard resources.
Runestone | By converting 1000 stone, a Runestone can be created, which are then used to research building and siege weapon improvements.
Darkwood | By converting 1000 wood, Darkwood can be created, which then is used in researching combat ability and unit movement.
Veritium | By converting 1000 iron, Veritium can be created. Research using Veritium can improve unit production and combat ability.
Trueseed | By converting 1000 food, a Trueseed can be created. Trueseed is used to research magic and transportation. |
Purified resources are used for research and increasing player titles.
Research[edit]
Gold and purified resources are used in research, which increase the abilities of units. For each level of research, the purified resources you need triples (i.e., Infantry: Travel Speed level 1 costs 500 Trueseed; level 2 costs 1,500 Trueseed). The maximum benefit of research (except title advancement) is a 100% bonus.
Research | Benefit | Base Resources | Bonus |
Title Advancement | |||
Title Advancement | For each level and title you advance, you will be able to appoint an additional baron to control one more city. Additionally, you will gain mana quicker as soon as you reach a new title. | Darkwood: 50, Runestone: 50, Veritium: 50, Trueseed: 50, Gold: 40,000 |
