In the shamastic magic of Eodon, the spell of Protection allows the shaman to strengthen the defense of a companion.
Spell Description[edit]
To cast the spell, the shaman has to make an offering of Yopo to the totem of Aphazz. Once the offering is accepted, the selected companion will gain a much better defense in battle, allowing him or her to shrug off blows that normally would cause grievous injury. It therefore is one of the strongest spells available to the shaman in Eodon and greatly enhances the survival chances of adventuring parties.

This is perhaps the most doubtful spell of all. The natives claim this spell protects the shaman and all his comrades from harm. This is clearly untrue - I have seen people under such "protection" take grievous wounds. To give the shamans the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the spell simply does not work to the degree that the natives seem to believe it does.

- The spell works the same as the Britannian spell Protection, in that it temporarily raises the armor-class of a companion.
