Katalkotl was a leader of the ancient Eodonian Kotl, ancestors of the Sakkhra. Long deceased, a sentient holographic projection of his likeness is encountered in the Underground City of the Kotl in Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire.

Description[edit]

Katalkotl was a great explorer in Eodon's distant past, and his contributions to the Kotl society were such that his people paid him tribute by erecting a hologram of his image inside their subterranean city, complete with his memories to act as a voice of knowledge. Dr. Rafkin was personally impressed by the technological mastery required for such a perfect holographic representation.

After Yunapotli suggested talking to him, the Avatar found him at the teleport hub of the city. The great Kotl leader was pleased to see another visitor, noting that Dr. Spector had ignored him completely, believing him a liar. Katalkotl gave much information about the Underground City, the creation of the Myrmidex, and how humans came to Eodon. Katalkotl had personally led the expedition into the world of the humans, and convinced many of them to come to Eodon and serve their race. When asked about the power generator of the city, Katalkotl provided directions to its location, along with some details of its workings.[1]

With the loss of power and ensuing collapse of the Underground City, Katalkotl's hologram was destroyed.

Lore[edit]

Second was KatalkotI, who was sort of a cross between a museum curator and a prerecorded message. He, too, has lots of interesting facts on hand, but won't accompany you. He tells many stories, and will talk to you about the real KatalkotI, the Kotl, the Myrmidex, any strangers that might be present in the city, the humans of the valley, and the automatons of the city.
