Julia (manga)

A tinker named Julia [ジュリア] appears in Yoko Tanaka's 1989 Ultima-inspired manga, Ultima: The Quest of the Avatar, although he bears little relation to the character featured in the game series.
Description[edit]
A tinker assigned to accompany Deane in his quest by Lord British, Julia often served as a voice of experience in a party populated largely by the very young. A simple yet paternal man, it often fell to Julia to keep characters such as Shamino, Io or Kati out of trouble - a role which is made more explicit toward the manga's end when Deane tasks him with watching over the young shepherd boy for the duration of the quest.

- The author must have been aware of the gender-switch in the game, it can't be explained otherwise why a male character has a woman's name.
