Judith is the head instructor at Britain's Music Hall in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
A talented harpist, Judith was appointed by Lord British as a teacher at the conservatory two years prior to the Avatar's adventures regarding the Black Gate. In addition to providing instruction to aspiring bards, she also played in a musical group known as "The Avatars" - along with her pupil Neno and a young bowyer named Coop. The band enjoyed modest success at their performances at the Blue Boar Tavern, and Judith was hopeful that the trio could raise sufficient funds that they might eventually go on tour.[1]
In spite of her achievements, Judith appeared mildly depressed when queried about her home life - unhappy that her husband, Mayor Patterson, had grown increasingly distant since joining the Fellowship, and was seldom home as a result of his work.[2] If the Avatar spoke to the politician about such concerns, he would initially dismiss them, although with time and observation, the hero could catch the errant husband in an affair with the curator of the Royal Museum, Candice. Should the two of them be confronted with their infidelity, Patterson would agree to break off the affair.[3]
Apparently, in the year that followed the Fellowship's eventual dismantling, Judith and Patterson reconciled - with the latter confessing his indiscretions and contritely asking to be forgiven. Tragically, the penitent mayor was slain during his imprisonment within the Guardian's blackrock dome, after betraying his fellows to the invading forces and assaulting the Avatar in maddened combat. As the hero dispatched him, the dying man pleaded that his wife be told he was sorry.
When at last the prison was destroyed and its victims released back into the world, Judith would have found herself a newly made widow. It is unknown how she bore this, or what the Avatar said, if anything, about her husband's end.
