An Imp lives in a treasure chamber on the seventh level of the Abyss in Ultima Underworld.
Description[edit]
After gaining hints from Naruto and Fintor, the Avatar found a locked door at the shore of a lava chasm on the seventh level. Behind it, the Avatar discovered a treasure chamber inhabited by imps and stone golems. The lead imp greeted the Avatar, and though he liked to speak in riddles, it became clear that the imp had stolen the Crown of Maze Navigation and hid it among the other riches which belonged to the golems. The imp was willing to part with so that the Avatar could master Tyball's deadly maze.
However, the imp's playful nature turned sinister then. The Avatar had to pick up the crown from among the riches, and should the hero touch anything that was not the correct crown, the golems would murder the hero. The only hint the hero got was something about an eye - which turned out to be a good hint, since the correct crown was the only one with a white gem on the front. Thus the Avatar did pick the correct crown and then left.
Lore[edit]
| “ | Unfortunately, my minions, though expert at dispatching heroes and monsters, have had little success in eliminating the imp which haunts this chamber. This obnoxious creature, with its love of doggerel, fancies itself my enemy. It has been cunning enough to avoid me until now, but it will not be long before I find myself scraping it's life's blood from the heel of my boot. |

Trivia[edit]
- While it is possible to battle your way out of this problem, it is not worth it.
- Dorna Ironfist is looking for a golden plate stolen by a thief not worth describing. There is a golden plate to be found on level 4 and there is also one in this imp thief's hoard. However Dorna will not accept this one for the quest.
