Gwillim is a torax farmer living in the Herdsman's Valley. He appears in Ultima VIII.
Descirption[edit]
Gwillim was the husband of Corinth and the father of Cyrrus, and he could be frequently be found tending his herds of toraxen in the shadow of the Plateau. When encountering the breeder, he would initially mistake the Avatar for an agent of Mordea, and would insist that he and his wife were law-abiding citizens of the Tempest, speaking politely of topics concerning his family and their life in the valley.
If the hero made mention of the ghost which was said to haunt the area, Gwillim would grow defensive and dismiss the legend as a fable, bidding the Avatar not speak of it again. Should the hero learn from Corinth, however, that Gwillim' brother, Karpese, had died in pursuit of the spirit,[1] the issue could be readdressed, and Gwillim would grudgingly reveal the location of the cave which the ghost was said to inhabit, hinting that the madwoman, Kilandra, knew more of the affair.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- Gwillim's "barks" will reveal that he has named his toraxen, and that two of them are called "Shelby" and "Pono."
