In Ultima Underworld II, an unnamed goblin blacksmith appears in the unnamed prison tower on Tarna.
Description[edit]
This goblin is unnamed but introduces himself as the prison armorer and the game refers to him as the goblin armorer.
Due to the new security barriers being developed by the Tarnan goblins at the Guardian's behest, the armorer of the prison tower was tasked with manufacturing a number of specialty gloves using the hard to render metal known as fraznium. Frustrated at his inability to work with the waxy substance, the smithy grew increasingly stressed as the orders increased, and proved quite terse should the Avatar approach him.
The hero had the option of advising the blacksmith to simply coat iron gauntlets with a fraznium layer and thereby achieve the desired effect without having to worry about the soft structure of the material. Thankful for the suggestion, the blacksmith would offer the Avatar a spare pair of gloves.
Lore[edit]
“ | In a room to the west, the armorer forges special gauntlets of a soft metal called fraznium, which allow the wearer to pass through the force field on the top floor of the tower. He is unhappy with his lot, and might be persuaded to give some minor aid to a friendly human. |
