Dorin is a shepherdess in Paws in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
The Avatar discovered Dorin to be a plump kindhearted older woman who cared deeply for her granddaughter Merideth. She also assisted Timothy looking after the less fortunate in Paws. A bit of a gossip, she said that Mortude was actually a nice man, Marissa was a bit caught up in herself, and Arbeth was easily frightened. She also enjoyed going on long walks with Ubermon. Named after her mother, Dorin spoke highly of her own cooking.[1]
Dorin always seemed to be baking pies, but when the Avatar asked for a piece, it was always not ready or just finished.
Dorin was willing to sell bundles of wool for 5gp each.
The Ultima 6 Project[edit]
This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.
In The Ultima 6 Project, Dorin told the hero that she had to be extra careful watching over her flock recently because of recent Gargoyles sightings to the south near Trinsic. She remarked that a family in Paws had been killed by a supposed Gargoyle incursion recently, but she had not known the family very well, finding them unpleasant. She recommended the hero talk to the Paws tower guard for more information. Upon further investigation, the Avatar learned that the family had actually died due to an unfortunate accident, but that did little to quell her fear over the Gargoyle threat.
She felt that young Merideth was too shy, and tried to encourage the young girl to talk to more of the townsfolk.
