Diane is a stablekeeeper and famed equestrienne living in Britain in Ultima VII.

Description[edit]

Diane was bright, happy young woman who oversaw the stables in Britannia's capital. She had a clear love for her chosen profession, and had made a number of friends within the city. If questioned, she would speak briefly of those in her social circle, mentioning Greg's seeming luckiness; James' ennui; Brownie's past bid for mayor; and Mack's eccentricity. In addition to such niceties, the young woman was able to furnish the Avatar with a horse from Lord British's specially bred stock, along with an outfitted carriage.[1]

Lore[edit]

Britain boasts a great many merchants, from provisioners to tavern keepers, apothecaries to weaponsmiths, trainers to shipwrights.

Goods[edit]

Diane will make the following offer in Ultima VII:

Trivia[edit]

  • According to technical documents for the game, Diane's portrait is based upon a person known as Diane Pena.[3]
  • Diane, when speaking about James will mention that she believes he is infatuated with Cynthia – implying that she is not aware that they are, in fact, married.[4]
  • Beverlea of Paws' House of Items has a rocking horse for sale which she claims was Diane's childhood toy.[5]
