Derek is a young bard staying at Empath Abbey during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Derek was in the midst of playing newly composed songs at the Abbey at the time of the Stranger's pilgrimage there. Should the hero commune with the being known as Life that rested enshrined within the keep's grounds, the young musician could be asked about the Candle of Love. If thus asked, Derek would inform the Stranger that the candle was hidden in a secret location near Lock Lake.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (Japanese original), Derek can be identified with the bard in the same location. This character was removed in the English localization.
