Cheshef is the Martian controlling the body of George Washington Carver for part of the events of Martian Dreams.
Description[edit]
Working as cultivator for the Martian grove of Elysium, Cheshef was responsible for tending the young seedlings of his species as they grew into adult Martians. Cheshef had been assistant cultivator until only recently, with the inexperienced Martian's mentor having died shortly before the inhabitants of Elysium had been forced to flee into the Dream World. Cheshef told the hero that to grow new Martians, their race would need healthy seed pods, which sadly now only existed in Hellas and Argyre, as well as water, soil, and fertilizer. Due to inexperience, the young cultivator didn't know the proper components of fertilizer, suggesting the hero speak to Fazek about the correct ingredients. Chakstaf also recommended the Avatar speak to the arborist Chaktsaf about the process of transferring a Martian consciousness into new body.[1]
With the creation of mechanical bodies for the Martians, Cheshef returned to Earth on Andrew Carnegie's rocket.
