The Broken Oar is an inn and tavern in Fawn in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Like all the buildings of Fawn, this one as well is built from white marble. During the Avatar’s journey through the Serpent Isle, the inn and tavern were owned and operated by gossipy Jendon. The sailor Olon could frequently be found drowning his sorrows at the bar. Many of the citizens of Fawn could be found at the tavern throughout the day for their meal.
Lore[edit]
“ | When I entered the Broken Oar, I asked where the Great Captains were meeting. The barkeep was a surly old fellow named Jendon who told me he was not just a barkeep, but the owner of the place, and demanded that I treat him as such. I apologized and explained that I meant no offense. He seemed appeased and offered me some ale. I accepted and was handed a mug of rather brackish looking liquid. The taste was so foul as to bring tears to my eyes, so I set the glass down and asked again where the Great Captains were. He directed me to three men Sitting at a corner table. – from Balancing the Scales (Ultima VII Part Two)
