Beryl is one of the settlers to settle the Northern Forest of Serpent Isle. But after the murder of the other colonists, including her husband, she became Draygan’s personal slave. She appears in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
When the Avatar met her, she had suffered severely under her slavery to Draygan and – after being sure no one would hear them – readily told the Avatar of the events that transpired in the failed Northern Encampment. Living in constant fear of Draygan’s power she was desperate to escape and told the hero that she knew of the Forest Master. During her enslavement she observed Dragan’s invincibility but reasoned that he could be overpowered with arrow treated with the extract from the plant King's Saviour, to induce a deep sleep. The Avatar followed her advice to incapacitate and kill Draygan.
Beryl, finally free, chose to dwell with the Forest Master rather than return to civilization. Morghrim readily accepted her and took her into his home. This decision saved her life, as she was far away from population centers, when the Banes of Chaos ran amok and murdered the population.
Trivia[edit]
- Beryl will only talk with the Avatar if none of Draygan's men (including Draygan himself) are on the screen. This actually is more difficult than it sounds at first.
