Aristotle is a paladin living in Trinsic during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Aristotle could be found within the building housing Duelling Armour and Duelling Weapons. A dignified man, Aristotle claimed to be in search of Honor, and stated that true dignity came from deserving one's titles, rather than merely accruing empty appellations. He exhorted the Stranger to honor naught but honor itself and to forever strive to act honorably in all interactions.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Aristotle can be identified as a white mage in the corner where Virgil appears in the original version. He still talks about Honor, relating it to its principles, Courage and Truth.[2]
- Aristotle takes his name from Ἀριστοτέλη (Aristoteles), the famous Greek philosopher and advisor to Alexander the Great. The quote "Dignity consists not in possessing honors, but in deserving them" is often attributed to him.
