The ankh constellation as it appears in the Ultima IX ending cinematic.
The ankh constellation is a star constellation in the skies of Britannia.
Description[edit]
The constellation is seen at the very end of Ultima IX, after the ascension of the Avatar. It is a constellation of 25 stars in the Britannian night sky that forms the symbol of Virtue and Avatarhood, the ankh (which is made more prominent in the accompanying image by an overlay of an ankh). Its appearance directly follows the Avatar’s final battle against the Guardian, establishing a link with the departed hero.
Trivia[edit]
- One other constellation mentioned in the Journal is the Hammer of Tulur, which originally guided ships north, but due to the columns, now east.
- The constellation serves as the background for the Ultima IX credits.
