Andre is the cook for the Blue Boar Tavern in Britanny West in Ultima V: Lazarus.
Long time friend of the tavern owner Jaymes, Andre took pride in his profession as chef, and sought to constantly develop new concoctions to serve the tavern goers. Andre was somewhat of an unorthodox chef, and told the Avatar he had long dreamed of cooking with horse meat, but that no stablemaster would offer him a horse for slaughter. He promised to reward the Avatar if the hero should bring him some. Andre also excitedly offered the Avatar a sample of his newest creation, "Chicken in a Casket", which featured a live plucked chicken, forcible wrapped in dough, and deep-fried while still alive. His other passion was taxidermy, and said this occupation fit well with that of chef. Along with chatting about his profession, Andre freely gossiped about the other citizens of West Britanny, and the chefs at the Wayfarer's Inn and Castle Britannia.[1]
Andre told the hero he was quite happy with Blackthorn’s rule, saying Blackthorn's guards frequented the Blue Boar Tavern, and they tipped well.
Should the Avatar return with raw horse meat, Andre will reward the hero with baked horsechops.
