One of the most critical aspects of magic is the incantation. These words have to be spoken when activating the spell, in order to free the power of the forces tampered with. The correct combination of the syllables is what defines the spell. Following are the syllables, their translated meanings, and proper pronunciation.

Trivia[edit]
- Occasionally, when a spell is activated, the Mage will speak the Words of Power. This marks the first time in an Ultima game that the mystic syllables have been said aloud during play.
