Conversation[edit]
Anna: "Oh, that no-good husband of mine! I kick him out for one evening and he doesn't come back! I've two children to feed and I need the third one back to buy the food!"
You: "Sounds like trouble... I'll help if you like." (Accept Quest)
Anna: "You would find my Johnny? Start with the Jolly Spirits pub then. He might as well live there for all the time he spends drinking."
You: "Farewell."
...
Sam: "Welcome! Can I interest you in one of our fine ales?"
You: "No ale, just information. I'm looking for a man named johnny."
Sam: "Johnny? Well, the last time I saw him, he was feeling pretty down over his girl, Gilda. That was a couple of days ago though. I haven't seen him since."
You: "Gilda? His wife's name is Anna..." (Advance Quest)
Sam: "Oh boy... She's usually out in the yard somewhere. You might want to get to her before Anna does."
You: "Farewell."
...
Gilda: *Sniff*... "What can I do for you, Stranger?"
You: "You're Johnny's girl right? He's missing; have you seen him?"
Gilda: "Johnny's missing? He came to my house the other day. That's when he told me his wife kicked him out. I was so angry I turned him away. Something hasn't happened to him, has it?"
You: "Do you have any idea where he's gone? (Advance Quest)
Gilda: "I... I don't know. You have to tell Sheriff Bart. Surely he can help Johnny."
You: "Farewell."
...
Sheriff Bart: "Hail, adventurer! What can I do for you this fine day?"
You: "Where would someone go if they didn't want to be found?"
Sheriff Bart: "Well, there's only one good place, and that's the sewers. The place is filthy though. I'd not want to be there any longer than I'd have to. Why do you ask? Are you up to something funny?"
(You have two options:)
- "No reason..." (Advance Quest)
- "A man, Johnny, has gone missing. Seems likely that he's down there." (Advance Quest)
Sheriff Bart: "People go missing all the time these days I'm afraid. I'll keep an eye out."
You: "Farewell."
...
[You find a mangled corpse. On the body is a letter to a "Gilda". The letter is arranging a tryst with a woman other than his wife.
You: [Keep it.] (Advance Quest)
[You carefully fold the letter and slip it into your pack.
You: [Walk away.]
...
Anna: "You're back! It took you long enough. I see you haven't brought my husband with you."
(You have two choices:)
- [Lie] "I'm sorry, I couldn't arrive fast enough. I found his body." (+Compassion)
- [Give her the letter.] "Your husband has died; what's more he's been involved in an affair." (+Honesty)
Anna: "Johnny is dead? I... I shouldn't have been so hard on him. Despite it all... I did love him."
