The Ultima V computer-generated map shows detailed information not visible on the more artistic cloth maps included with the game, and serves as an excellent navigational tool. The map shows every single title of the overworld (4x4 pixels correspond with 1 tile), but not any items, as these are generally not visible as anything (since they have to be searched for to become visible).
