Renald is a poor beggar in Britain in Ultima IX.

When the Avatar met Renald before the Shrine of Compassion was cleansed, he desperately pleaded with the Avatar to give him 10 gold coins so that he could pay the charity tax and not be sent to Paws, and was most thankful if the Avatar helped. After the Shrine was cleansed, Renald continued his career as a beggar, and asked the Avatar for 10 more gold pieces.[1]
