The Origin catalog is a catalog that Origin produced to advertise and sell their products, which included not only the games themselves, but also books and merchandise.

Description[edit]

Origin released their first product catalog in 1987. While it might look strange today, in the pre-internet era such catalogs were nothing unusual, as many software houses created them. What was unusual was the great effort Origin put into their catalogs, printing them in full color (very much not common at that time) and with an individual layout. These catalogs also gained fame due to being in the game boxes as a bonus, thus gaining wide circulation. The last full catalog was being released in 1992. Shortly after Electronic Arts bought Origin the catalog was reduced greatly, most likely as a cost-cutting measure, before being abandoned entirely after 1994.
