Faren is a wine merchant in Empath Abbey in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
Faren was a young effeminate man whom the Avatar met while visiting Empath Abbey. The brother of blind Stephanie, the healer of the Abbey, Faren wondered what life must be for her. The merchant thought that since his sister who was born blind and had to make the best with her lot in life, she was no different than anyone else. Just like the gargoyles, who only knew of life as a gargoyle, were similar to humans because they also tried to make the best of their lot.[1]

In The Ultima 6 Project, Faren was interested in acquiring rare wines from Skara Brae. He would pay the hero 220 gold coins apiece for bottles of Skara Red Wine and Skara Dry Wine.
