This article is about the Lycaeum jester from Ultima IV. For the proprietor of Honorable Inn, see Zajac (Trinsic).
Zajac is the jester of the Lycaeum during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
A flighty wit-cracker, Zajac was unhappy that his friend Chuckles of Castle Britannia was keeping a secret from him, and was in no mood to entertain. Should the Stranger speak to the morose fool about his comrade, Zajac would advise to ask Chuckles, hoping that his fellow jester would reveal his mysterious clue to the hero.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Zajac can be identified with a shepherd in Vesper. He appears to have eventually learned Chuckles' secret, since he reveals to the Stranger part of Water's secret.[2]
- Tom Zajac is a well known expert in Medieval and Renaissance music and dance. His name is mentioned in some Texan publications from the Society for Creative Anachronism, from which Richard Garriott derived many Ultima characters.[3][4]
