Xanthia is an artist specializing in the creation of candelabras. She is also an active participant in the Artisan's Guild of Minoc during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
A cheerful and attractive woman, Xanthia was deeply disturbed by the double-homicide which rocked the city of Sacrifice at the time of the Avatar's travels there. While not having known either victim, the craftswoman could identify a crucial piece of evidence found at the crime scene - a stylized candelabra incorporating the symbolic Fellowship trigraph - which had been previously commissioned by the local branch leader, Elynor.[1]
Like many other members of the Minoxian artist's collective, Xanthia had misgivings over the philosophical organization which had gathered such power in the city and its backing of the local shipwright, Owen - although the candelabra-maker was one of the few people in the city who had never been invited to join the Fellowship's ranks.[2]
Lore[edit]
“ | Welcome to Minoc. If thou dost seek a craftsman or craftswoman, thou hast come to the right place. We have a tinker, Julia, who understands the construction of any contraptions thou canst conceive of, a blacksmith who makes the finest horseshoes I have ever seen, a clockmaker, a sawyer, a candlestick maker and a glassblower who also sculpts - me! – from Key to the Black Gate (Ultima VII)

Trivia[edit]
- According to technical documents for the game, Xanthia's portrait is based upon Origin staffer, Donna Whitaker.[3]
- When showing the candelabra at the murder site to Xanthia, the player has the option of claiming that the item did not come from the sawmill, which will elicit concerns from the artisan that the Avatar stole the object from the Fellowship hall.[1]
- Xanthia's claim that Elynor never invited her to be a part of the Fellowship contradicts Gladstone's assertion that the guild's feud with the group originated when all members of the Artisan's Guild refused an invitation to join.[4]
