I grew up hacking apart the Ultima 3, 4, and 5 on the Apple II. Even made a profession out of decoding things.

I decoded a fair bit of Lord of Ultima to write an Android client for it (search on the Amazon marketplace for it) and was very disappointed to find out that the virtues were internally coded in alphabetical order, instead of the Correct Order (being honesty, compassion, valor, justice, sacrifice, honor, spirituality, and honor). :<

I occasionally see how few moves I can win the PC port of Ultima III. Unfortunately this mostly comes down to luck, since (IIRC) there is a 1/6000 chance of a Pirate ship appearing each turn, and a lot of advancements in the game are hidden behind that.

I am looking for the Apple II version that had move numbers.
