Trystero is the ghost of a dead servant of Praecor Loth, found in his master's tomb. He appears in Ultima Underworld II.
Description[edit]
Trystero, like many others in Praecor Loth's entourage, appears to have been a victim of "retainer sacrifice," and was likely killed and placed in his lord's tomb after the battle of Fyrna. In death, his skeletal remains served to defend the necropolis against the incursions of the Guardian, until such a point that they were trapped in a magical cave-in summoned by the Three to kill the Red Titan's troops.[1] As a result of this incident, his spirit and bones separated from one another and he became a incorporeal shade.
Should the Avatar speak to the ghostly Trystero, the man would plead with the hero to return his bones to him, describing them as best he could and mentioning that they had held a jeweled axe when last he possessed them. Should the Avatar return with his skeleton, the thankful spirit would impart what advice he could about navigating the tombs, although he strongly urged leaving the area before facing death.[2]
