Siege Perilous RPG - Players Handbook.jpg

Siege Perilous is a tabletop role playing game (TTRPG) based on the Age of Darkness games.

Description[edit]

Siege Perilous is a tabletop role playing game based on the Ultima Age of Darkness games utilising an adaptation of the Swords & Wizardry: WhiteBox game (1st printing) (a reproduction of the original Dungeons & Dragons from 1974–1980). Siege Perilous also uses pieces inspired by other freely available gaming sources available on the Internet.

Set nominally in the Lands of Lord British, the RPG uses classes, monsters, spells, NPCs and features from the first three Ultima games (AKA the Age of Darkness). Game reference material sets the scene at the start of Ultima I, however the game does not require a faithful reproduction of any specific Ultima canon timeline to play to completion – the author's claimed purpose was to make a hybrid game that a game referee could use to represent any point in time in the established Ultima universe. As is the case for many TTRPGs, the timeline of the game is dependent on player(s) choice, who are just as free to act in concert with Mondain against Lord British, or for the game referee to utilise the rule set to go on their own adventures in an entirely unique land.
